Prototype created

I'm creating this game for the GMTK Game Jam 2023, a 48 hour game jam. It will be my first playable game I publish. It's currently almost half-way through the time allotted, so I'm uploading a prototype to make sure nothing can take publishing away from me.

The theme is "roles reversed", so I decided to make the player control an innkeeper, the kind that would normally give quests to the heroes in a fantasy MMO or tabletop RPG. I thought of the innkeeper's business model. They tend to charge margins on every transaction, so they would like the adventurers that visit to be trading lots of loot in, especially expensive loot. How can you get an adventurer to part with their expensive loot? Well, when they are sent off on a quest, they return with even better magical items. This means they no longer need their old gear. If you could buy it, then immediately sell it to lower-level heroes, you could make a small fortune.

Currently I have the innkeeping setup and some basic sending of people out on adventures, but buying and selling is not functional, and I haven't put much thought into the exact mechanism for determining whether a hero lives or dies when they adventure in some location — although I currently have it implemented taking into account equipment level, danger of the location, and a lot of randomness.
